What do these tutorials mediate?

You are a computer musician who played for years with your midi studio (sound modules, controllers, Cubase, Logic, Sonar, etc.)
One day you change to "making music with samples". Even if you know how the sample player works or Cubase you will need a lot more and new tips, tricks and information to get results like you've heard with demos.
These Tutorials will guide you from the midifile (starting point) through all! processes which could be necessary to get a good result.
So you will get in a compact form all the knowledge and experience around making music with samples which I've collected now for mor than 7 years (1975 I bought my first Roland SH?)... for the price of one lesson.

Are the tutorials for beginners?

They are written for beginners. More precise: For sample music beginners.
Best pre-conditions are:
- You know to use your the sample player
- You know to use your host program (Logic, Cubase, Sonar...)
- You already produced music with midi sounds.
So the level is for sample music beginners - advanced, I think.

Are the tutorials written in English?

Yes.
But as you know English is not my mothertongue.
So I have the same vocabulary as for an example an Eskimo who learned to speak English.
I think you should be able to understand my English even if you are a Japanese, a Chinese or a Chilean. ;-)

Further I hope you help to improve this tutorials with your feedbacks. If something is unclear, vague or missleading, then I hope to get a feedback. So I can Improve the tutorials.

Are these tutorials made for Logic or Cubase?

They are made neither for Logic nor for Cubase. I'm going to show you the jobs you have to do and the results which you should achieve. How to do something with Sonar for example is a matter of a Sonar tutorial.
But I'm going to support you with pictures and more which will help you to find the way in your host.

Can I buy only one tutorial?

No. Even if there are 2 tutorials it make no sence to offer it separately. I've divided the whole process into two tutorials to keep it all more clearly.
Further it was also a question of the file size. Both of them have got around 50MB each (because of the pictures and mp3s).
You will buy them as "1 Item".

How to download the tutorials?

Go to "Purchase" and follow the instructions.
After purchasing it by the online shop...
you will get a Password to LogIn at the download site for the tutorials.

What's the size of the tutorials?

Midi Tutorial ~ 49MB
Audio Tutorial ~ 56MB
Andante + Allegro > each Instrument 27 MB
"zip"-Files
... I'm going to manage how to offer these large Files for those who aren't able to download such large files in one step.

How to pay?

I've selected the PayPal-Service.
You will have a lot of possibilities to pay the amount with it.
As soon as you have concluded the pay procedure at Paypal you will get the Password for the LogIn at the download page.

Do the tutorials explain musical aspects?

Yes, in relation to the main theme of course.
I've selected Handels Water Music. So it is important to achieve the "Baroque Music Style".
I will explain the main points of this style and then of course how to achieve it with samples (Midi-Tutorial).
So I try to point out, that we always have to keep in mind, that there are also styles behind the music.

But it would be a tutorial for itself to treat "how to play all the main classical styles". So it will mainle be a tutorial around the handling with samples.

I am on MAC - Can I use the tutorials as well?

The tutorials are written in HTML. You open them with your Browser! So it is your browser which shows the content of those tutorials - or not.

Are the tutorials helpful for all kind of samples?

Yes.
My examples are produced with VSL but I used sample articulations for the examples which should be available with every "middle range library". So when I took a staccato you will take your staccato.
You will have no problem to reach similar results.

There are samples on the market which have their room position (L<>R) and their depth included (East West,...). So the Step "Pan" and "Depths" of the Audio Tutorial can be useless for those owners.

But once more: I'm going to show the jobs you have to do and not how to do it with Logic for example. So even if you are an "East-West-Sample-Owner" you can learn something about Depths and Reverb.
And - Therefore I made one of these Steps (Depths) for free (Trial Tutorial).

What do I find out beside the Sample Aspects?

You will get information about strings in connection with samples... about woodwinds and brass in connection with samples...about tempo, dynamics, using effects for certain instruments and a lot of examples how to use EQs etc. [more...]

I only have String Samples. May I use the tutorial as well?

Yes. I'm going to show all the jobs on the way from Midi to the final Audiofile. Further I most time do all these jobs for the strings as an example...
So with the Midi tutorial you can try to achieve the results of the strings with saxophones if you want.

The Audio tutorial has all the instrument tracks you need to imitate my steps included (as mp3). So you don't need the ability of producing them with the Midi tutorial.

I've a"Light Version" of Logic/Cubase/... Will I be able to use the Tutorials?

Yes. Even if you have a light version or an old version of a host program: The tutorials are showing the jobs in a more general way.
The only important thing which your host program should offer is the ability to create 6 BUS-/Group- Channels where you can route single audio tracks to it.
And it should offer to put one Effect (PlugIn) in each of them. [more...]

Which Instruments (Libraries) do I need?

You don't need any sample library to follow these Tutorials (Tutorial 1).
If you want to reproduce the steps then it could be an adavantage to
have a string- woodwind- and a brass library.
More precise:
- Strings Ensemble
- Oboe
- Bassoon
- Trumpet
- Horn
But there is an other solution:
Even if you don't have all the instruments: If you want to try the
recommended jobs in Tutorial 1 (Midi) you can do it always with the
same library.

Tutorial 2 has all the single Audio Tracks included (Viols1,2,Violas, Cellos, d.Basses,
Trumpet1,2 , Horn 1,2, Oboe1, 2, Bassoons).
So you will be able to import these audio tracks for reproducing all the steps of Tutorial 2.

Any special requests for the Host Program?

Special requests for your Host in Tutorial 2 are:
It has to be able to open 6 Group-/Bus- Channels.
Further should be able to insert 1 effect (Reverb) in each of these Group-Channels.

The tutorials only will show which jobs you have to do. But this in a very common way:
